Transcription Services

Fast, efficient audio transcription services delivering accuracy every time.

Transcription is the art of ensuring the spoken word is accurately converted into the written word, in the original language it is spoken in. At Intonation, we provide audio transcription services for a wide variety of industries, such as law, medicine and manufacturing. Our team of skilled experts are experienced language professionals and are equipped to transcribe a variety of materials, in any language.

No transcription is too big or too small – the final result is a fully transcribed version of the audio sent to us.

What audio transcription services do we offer?

Our transcription services are bespoke to you and we’re able to adapt to fit your requirements. Our team of language experts can transcribe files from multiple digital formats including MP3, MP4, AAC, CD, video, DVD and audio cassettes.

We provide two different services:

Verbatim

The process of transcribing every single part of the dialogue including filling words, stutters and repetitions.  Mm-hmm, uh-huh and laughs are included but non-speech sounds such as coughs, clapping, ‘atmospheric’ sounds are excluded.

Non-verbatim

The process of transcribing for readability. The structure or meaning of the speech should not be altered but interjections, filler words, stutters and audible non-speech sounds can be excluded.

We cover all file formats and can offer time-coded transcriptions upon request too. We will liaise with you before starting your project to make sure your transcription is presented in the way you need it to be.

Our professional transcribers have helped support the criminal justice system, uncovered millions of pounds worth of fraud and even caught sports stars doping. We’re primed and ready to handle any file format and subject matter, when you need us most.

We also offer a full translation service here at Intonation, whether we have transcribed your documents ourselves or you already have a transcription of your audio recording, we’re here to help.

How do we quote?

To quote accurately for transcription, we often need to hear the recorded version, or an extract of it, to ensure we are able to accurately ascertain the quality of recording, speed and clarity of the speech and the number of people involved in the conversation.

We also ask:

  • if you require verbatim or non-verbatim transcriptionif you require verbatim or non-verbatim transcription
  • if you would like to include timecodesif you would like to include timecodes
  • if we should identify the speakersif we should identify the speakers
  • and what’s your deadlineand what’s your deadline
