We’ve Been Named The UK’s Fastest Growing Translation Agency

27 Feb 2017

This month at Intonation we are celebrating after being named the UK’s Fastest Growing Language Services Provider in 2016 by the Association of Translation Companies (ATC).

According to a recent report by the ATC the language industry in the UK is now worth in excess of £1 billion a year. Geoffrey Bowden, General Secretary of the ATC said “Intonation is a perfect example of a business that has gone from strength to strength by focusing on their clients’ needs, expanding their services and remaining agile in the marketplace” he added.

Intonation’s Commercial Director Dan Peachey explained that the company’s growth was attributed to a number of key factors such as a high client retention rate, the launching of a multi-language marketing service focusing on Search Engine Optimisation and two acquisitions, which has enabled them to expand the services they offer.

Here at Intonation, we employ 27 core staff and work with over 2000 translation professionals to undertake a wide variety of language projects in over 600 languages. We are very proud of the fact that out of our top 10 clients, nine have a history of working with us for at least five years and in our annual customer survey, our team achieved a 100% Client Satisfaction Rate which is testament to the standards that we set ourselves.

Our clients’ needs are diverse and no one day is ever the same, recent projects we have undertaken, include working for internationally-acclaimed and award-winning drinks company Fever Tree, translating lines of a script for the recent “Absolutely Fabulous” film through to translating exhibition literature for Winkworth Machinery, the UK’s leading industrial mixer manufacturer”.

Dan who is a speaker of French, German and Swedish joined Intonation originally as a temporary project manager in 2000 and then worked his way up through the company to become its Commercial Director.

“I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the company which includes overseeing our client projects, quality management, business development and financial budgeting responsibilities. I also spend time abroad visiting clients and attending meetings as the UK board member of Eulogia, the European Alliance of Translation Agencies”.

“When I look back, my love of languages, foreign travel and history began in my early teens and at University where I studied a Modern Languages (French and German) and European Studies Degree. Upon joining Intonation, I trained to be a translator and gained a Post-Graduate Certificate in French Translation from the University of Southampton”. “I strive for high standards in everything we do for our clients’ and feel very privileged to work with such a hardworking team of translators who have helped achieve this level of growth” he added.
